Wild Wood Adventure, Stoke Park, Guildford, Surrey, which was officially launched on Saturday 17th May by ‘Elvis and Marilyn’ pictured here and tried and tested by his Worship, The Lord Mayor of Guildford ahead of its first official business day last week.Rob Mitchell, co-director of Wild Wood Adventure, said “We’ve had several trial runs and worked through some small bugs. There are features on this course that do not appear on any other tree-top adventure in the Country so staff training and practise runs have been a key part of our pre-opening strategy.”
Highlights of the new facility include; a sequence of smooth hanging boulders, an exclusive safety harness that stays connected to the course the whole way around (other facilities require clipping and unclipping at each obstacle) which means there is no need for ugly and uncomfortable safety helmets. In addition there are two parallel zip wires, a super-scary fan-jump and a tree-top skate-board challenge. “There’s something for absolutely everyone.” Rob explained. “One of the key things for us was to make Wild Wood Adventure genuinely inclusive so for the little kids there is a miniature version of the full scale course – young children get the same experience as big brother or sister or mum and dad. And as the safety system is so special, mum or dad don’t have to go if they don’t want to – they can pop into Guildford high street which is a three minute-park walk away! We’ve had 5 year olds (min. height 1 metre) to 80 year old on the course already!”
