Ashgate Hospice, Chesterfield, the renowned independent charity hospice that provides palliative care both at the hospice itself and within the communities of North Derbyshire has received a further donation from local washroom systems and catering product manufacturer Franke Sissons.

Ashgate Hospice received a community-sponsored kitchen last year, of which Franke Sissons donated the kitchen equipment.  This year the local company has designed, fitted and commissioned a fit-out of the housekeeper’s room and linen store.  Equipment donated includes stainless steel lockable cupboards, stainless steel worktops, matching splash backs, along with a sink for buckets and matching taps to make the life easier for what is an essential function of the hospice.  Worth in excess of £5,000 the donation was not only timely but also because of Franke Sissons’, design, manufacturer and the installation specialism, it effectively removed the hassle and time that would have been involved in managing the job for Ashgate’s hardworking management team.

Andy Dukelow, Managing Director of Franke Sissons “Ashgate Hospice is a remarkable place providing completely free of charge care for people reaching the end of their lives.  We continue to be so impressed by the work done at Ashgate we felt compelled to continue our support of them as our chosen charity in any way we can.”

Jane Bridge, (right in the picture) Head of Support Services at Ashgate Hospice said, “We are delighted that the relationship with Franke Sissons is continuing to grow and would like to thank all concerned for their time and energy.  What we have now is a first class facility that makes the vital job of housekeeping far easier for our team”

Franke Sissons is also holding a Family Fun Day in June where all monies raised will be split with Ashgate Hospice and Help for Heroes.

Yorkshire based businessman planning to run Polar Circle Marathon in aid for amputee ex-forces men and women.

Robert Kaiser, CEO of Yorkshire based body armour manufacturer PPSS Group, is facing a rather very cold challenge this October.  Robert is hoping to raise at least £5,000 for the Pilgrim Bandits, a charity dedicated to taking ex-forces amputees on challenging expeditions

“It’s shameful how little has been done for those who have served and protected this country.  I am running the Polar Circle Marathon to raise awareness and financial support these guys,” said Robert Kaiser.

Weather conditions and temperatures inGreenlandvary significantly, so Robert is aiming to get himself in the best possible shape for this challenge.  His current training regime includes, breaking-dawn marches for several miles carrying a 50lb backpack and running 13 miles on a Sunday morning.

“I really would like to appeal to everyone, local businesses and anyone who shares my passion for the support of the Armed Forces, and especially for those whose lives have been turned upside down due to serious injuries or loss of limbs.   I also want to highlight how brave and mentally strong many of these injured service men are.  Where most civilians would have given up, these guys just take the challenge on the chin and simply adapt, without whining.  They are an inspiration to all of us.

If you would like to support Robert please visit his fundraising page:
